Dit verteld Star Child over deze geur:
"13th May ~ 9th June
Hawthorn belongs to the thorny trees, or 'spirit trees' of the tree alphabet, which are actually more like bushes. As a traditional hedgerow plant it protects many species of birds and animals that make their home amongst its tangle of branches and gnarly roots. Hawthorn is associated with the Crone aspect of the Goddess, the hag, who with her forbidding thorns marks the boundary between cultivated land and the wilderness beyond. The white blossom exudes a distinct and almost narcotic scent that penetrates the spring air (some have even described it as erotic!).
Hawthorn is another tree marked by the sacred colours of the Goddess, as the white blossom turns into bright red fruit in autumn. Not surprisingly, it is associated with the fairy realm. Hapless travellers, who fall asleep under its branches, find themselves lured into their enchanting world - only to realise upon their return that years instead of hours passed while they were dreaming. Humans have an ambivalent relationship with the fairy folk and thus, trees that provide access to their realm are often thought 'unlucky' - at least if brought into the house. On the other hand, Hawthorn branches hung above the door protect home, hearth and animals against witchcraft and evil spirits.
In the Celtic Tree Calendar, the Hawthorn month is a time of purification and abstinence, a time to cleanse the temples, as well as the temple of the body, in preparation of the Summer Solstice.
Wear Hawthorn Tree Wisdom Perfume to get in touch with your true sense of self and to mark your personal boundary. It may be worn during times of spiritual cleansing and abstinence."
